Sugar Cookies

I had several people ask for the recipe of my sugar cookies that I took to work the other day. Sadly, I had not yet been inspired to create this blog or I would have taken pictures of the cookies to add to this post. Maybe I'll just have to make some more! Thanks, Shirlene for sharing the recipe with me!

SUGAR COOKIES
Cream together until smooth:
2 cups butter, softened
3 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp lemon extract
Stir together and then add to creamed mixture:
6 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
Stir until well blended. Chill. Roll out and cut into desired shapes. Bake in a 350 degree oven 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. (Better to under-cook than to over-cook for soft cookies.) Frost when cooled.

FROSTING
1/4 cup butter, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
2 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla
1-2 tsp milk
